We saw these old steel-framed apple crates down the road for $25 each, so we decided to buy 6 of them and use them as vegetable gardens. We ordered a truck-load of soil and a tonne of 20mm stones (for drainage in the bottom of the crate) and last weekend, we loaded the crates up with soil and planted our first crops.
We hadn’t even begun to start loading the soil and already he was tired :)

Sarah and Tim are girlfriend and boyfriend. They’ve been together for about 10 years. Until recently, they lived in the southern suburbs of Sydney. In May 09 they relocated to the picturesque Huon Valley in Tasmania, Australia, where they are renovating and redecorating a cute as can be 1930s weatherboard cottage and restoring its gardens to their former glory.
Sarah is the owner of Tall Poppy Craft Products. Tim is a postman.
Sarah likes her computer, gardening, furniture and sewing. Tim likes collecting pre-war Australian pottery, selling things on eBay and buying old things.
