Sanding wood framed chairs
I have set myself my first little furniture sanding/restoring project of sanding down the pair of wood framed chairs we bought a few months ago and re-upholstering them. We got them for $20 each down at the local second-hand furniture store. This is what they look like:

The wood frame consists of the legs and the arm rests which comes apart from the metal frame which runs up the back of the chair. I think it will be a pretty easy project to start off on.
Using my Black & Decker mouse sander I used the finest grade sanding pad in the box and the horrible orangey brown tinted varnish paint stuff that was on there came off pretty easily.

It does help if you don’t have a big white dog trying to get in on the action.

This is what the frame looks like after the sanding:

I would like to keep the blond tone of the wood by putting a coat of clear laquer over the top. Now the problem is trying to decide which fabric to use to replace these old cushions (which don’t even match by the way):

I am tossing up between these fabrics:
Amy Butler Market Umbrellas (which I already have a couple of bolts and which would alleviate the need to buy fabric for this project):

Amy Butler Lime Peel & Sepia Sun Dahlias (which I already have a bolt of and which would alleviate the need to buy fabric for this project):

Amy Butler Mosaic in Rose:

Amy Butler Dandelion Field:

Michael Miller Damask in Beige:

Harmony Windham Red Cream Stripe:

Harmony Windham Brown Leaf Stripe:

Joel Dewberry Modern Buds in Camel (super expensive):

Joel Dewberry Bloom in Sand (also super expensive):

Or last but not least, Anna Maria Horner’s Trellis in Blue:

Stay tuned for what I decide!
