Pottering about
Last weekend we did a few things around the house. I did some gardening and Tim got on the roof to clean the gutters and check the condition of the roof.
He took some photos of our garden and our surrounds while he was up there.
As you can see, from up here, there’s a lot of garden that we have to maintain. First things first is trying to get the garden beds all nice and back up-to-scratch. I am getting there little by little. After clearing out just two garden beds, it’s pretty hard work. Each garden bed has a 6 inch top coat of weed, grass and roots. I will soon be spraying Round-up on the weeds in the garden beds and the plan is to hire a 1.5 tonne excavator and completely clear the beds of the old soil and weeds and replace with brand new soil from the local soil supply place.

That circular formation you can see in the grass is actually a grown-over garden bed that I eventually have to clear out and make new again

Near the right hand corner you can see another round formation, that's a rose garden which is overgrown full of grass and weeds
Also while he was up on the roof, he frightened a possum who was sleeping under the eaves. The possum quickly jumped from the roof onto the grass and then ran around the back of the house and into the little man hole that leads underneath the house.
In other news, the daffodil bulbs that appear to have been strewn randomly in the garden beds by the previous owner are starting to come out.
